Observing equality of the rights of individuals based on the physical, mental, emotional and socially legitimate and reasonable needs in the particular circumstances in the health care system is emphasized. The situation is different in the case of AIDS patients. The aim of this study was to review of "the nursing care of patients based on patient's rights in national and international arena".
Our literature search was limited to English and Persian databases. We searched ISI Web of Science,ScienceDirect, Scopus, Magiran, SID and IranMedex, Medline, EMBASE, CINAHL from 1998 to 2015. In addition, the references of articles retrieved were searched for additional citations. The search yielded 248 articles, 66 of which met the inclusion criteria.
According to the findings,role of nurses also patients' rights have described as observing the prioritizing the patient’s needs, informed consent in diagnosis and treatment, non-discrimination and equal protection, the highest degree of physical and mental health at all levels of prevention, having the freedom of administration or discharge and equal access to health care services.
Rights of AIDS patients in fact are the real needs that they expect from the health care centers to address them equally and without discrimination. Like other patients, nurses must observe these rights without boundaries.
