Thus, today disclosing cancer is a challenge for patients, families and health care staff. It is evident that this issue has been discussed from different point of views. In this study the issues of disclosing cancer approaches have been reviewed and a comprehensive review was performed on the disclosing cancer and its related approaches by searching in the valid data bases including both English and Persian through using keywords such as "communication cancer", "breaking OR revealing cancer or bad news" and "cancer disclosing or disclosure". All the articles up to August 2014 were retrieved. Totally, 221 articles were retrieved of which 90 articles were selected. The issue of disclosing cancer was discussed from different viewpoints and there are various approaches in this regard that has been discussed in this article in detail.
